Spotify features and geographic availability
Spotify is a famous music streaming service providing music from record labels including Sony, EMI, Warner Music Group and Universal. As of January 2014, the system is available for all major platforms including Android, Boxee, iOS, Linux, Windows, OS X and Roku.
When it comes to depth of library, Spotify is hard to beat. With more than 20 million songs, the Spotify radio function demonstrates distinct differences from its competitor, Pandora.
However, the service is only available in 55 countries. Here’s a simple guide on what to do if you get the “Spotify is currently not available in your country” error.
Create your Spotify account from outside the US
First off, you’re going to need an account. In order to register you’ll have to trick Spotify into thinking you’re in the United Kingdom or the United States.
Trick Spotify into thinking you're connecting from the US or some other supported country.
In order to do that you just need a VPN account. VPN or Virtual Private Network is a system that will allow you to create a virtual place of residence in let’s say US and thus allow you to use everything that Spotify has to offer. Simply put, it will just hide your real IP address behind a specially created US IP and allow you to find yourself in a country supported by Spotify.
How it works
All you need to do is to install this handy app, select a US server from the list and connect. Once connected you can load your browser and register your Spotify account. After that just install the Spotify app and start streaming Spotify from outside the US.
